Holly Baron

FCS Girl's Head Coach

Coach Baron is a sixth year coach with the AHS XC team, and 4th year as the women's head coach. She obtained all her degrees up to her Specialist from Kennesaw State University in Mathematics Education.
Coach Baron began running in middle school on both cross country and track teams and has continued running ever since. These days her training consists of running, biking, strength training, and yoga. Her coaching goal is to empower young women to empower each other and feel/believe they're strong.

Derek Wright

FCS Boy's Head Coach

Coach Wright is a third year coach with the AHS Cross Country team. Since the beginning of his teaching career, he has taught in the English department at Alpharetta High School, and he holds a Specialist Degree from Kennesaw State University in English Education.  Now, Coach Wright is Alpharetta's Graduation Coach. Coach Wright is an avid runner and has completed multiple marathons and 50Ks. He is currently training for multiple 12-hour races and a 100 miler in September

Nick Phillips

FCS Assistant Coach

Coach Phillips is a second-year XC coach with AHS. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Georgia, and his PhD in History Education from Auburn University. He began running track and cross country in middle school and was a Varsity runner at Chattahoochee High School. He has completed 5 marathons and regularly participated in the Peachtree Road Race. He also is the Head Coach of women's soccer at AHS.


Erin Schuler

FCS Assistant Coach

Coach Schuler is a first-year XC Coach with AHS. Coach Schuler has been teaching P.E./Health while coaching track, basketball and soccer at WBMS since 2001. She has a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Georgia and a Master’s Degree in Health Studies from the University of Alabama.  Coach Schuler graduated from Roswell High School where she played softball, basketball, tennis and track. Coach Schuler has been a part of the Sequoyah XC program for the past 7 years and is also the head coach of her neighborhood swim team.  She is very excited to join the AHS XC team and continue to help athletes grow and learn at the high school level.
